Extraordinary bad service!
I bought a car on the 18th of August from Elmar Auto Modimolle. Since then I had trouble more than once to get problems on the car sorted out. According to the latest consumer law, a car dealership is supposed to see to it that a car is absolutely roadworthy before signing it off to the client. Wonder why it was accepted at the test station in the condition it was??? New tyres should been fitted, wich was not because I took the car to another tyre shop other than the shop that fitted the tyres and the debth of the grid, was not as deep as it should have been if the tyres were new. I had weeks of trouble to get the shocks sorted out and I complained about a strange noice on the left front wheel since I've test drived the vehicle. According to the sales person, it was sorted out each time I complaint about it, wich was a few times. I drived to Koster a week or two after receiving the car. The car started jurking near Brits and did so until we reached Rustenburg. I contacted the principal of the dealership and told him that I had a qualified machanic looking at the car and that the shock on the left was leaking oil (did'nt they see it at the test centre??) and that he put the car on a diagnostic machine to search for any defaults in the engin that could cause the jurking but that the machine did'nt pick up anything. He said it could be because the car cooled down since the previous day. I was told that I should get the shock fixed right away as it is very dangerous driving like that and alsothat I could let the car cool down when it start jurking on my way back to Modimolle. So I contacted the principal to get the shocks fixed in Rustenburg the following day on my way to Modimolle as me and me daughter was travelling alone and I was scared to drive back all the way with the shock. He refused and said I must go back to Modimolle and only then they will fix the shock. It was after a huge fight with the dealer principal that I took up the matter with Wesbank and he was forced to fix the problem. After that I reported that the seatbelts could'nt fasten, along with problems with the radio, the aircon, the window that could'nt wind up properly wich after, I took the car in so it could be fixed. After that I've transported some friends and I've found that the seatbelts was still not able to fasten. At some point through it all I also took the car back a second time for the exhaust to be fastened. Besides all the above, according to Elmar Auto, my car was serviced, but in the past week it was discovered that some of the spark plugs was dead and rusted, wich was the reason for the car jurking. In the past few weeks, I more than once corresponded with the Dealership Pricipal regarding the jurking of the car to the point where I was visiting Newcastle and the same jurking started again. I took the car to the Nissan garage and they've said that I must bring the car when the jurking starts so they could put the car on the dianostic machine without switching it off, because the jurking started only after a few hundred kilometers. So I had to drive back home and as soon as the car starts jurking, I had to pull up at a Nissan garage. I emailed the dealer principle and explain it to him. He then rep**** that he was willing to pay for the parts but not the labour. I've asked him why only the parts and not the labour. He rep**** I must send the bill and then he will see. On wednesday the 12th of October, I got a quote from a service centre at Koster and I've send it to him for payment and informed him that the car would be fixed on friday the 14th. After paying the service centre because he did not rep**** since the wednesday, I made payment and I mailed the receipt to him along with my banking details. Untill now I had no reply from Elmar Auto nor payment. I had so much trouble and cost from doing business with this dealership and will have no choice to go through the trouble once again to take up the matter with Wesbank. Prospective buyers should really be careful when buying a car from them.
