The Worst with complete lack of giving a damn about their customers!
<div>Most awful experience with our relocation from JHB to Cape Town was handled by Elliott. Initially they seemed to be on the ball, but have since discovered this is just a damn sales pitch. We should have known when the first issue with our vehicle arose, that this was going to be a nightmare. They firstly informed us the day before they collected our vehicle that it was only going to be delivered 7 - 10 working days later. We were not informed of this at all and even pointing it out to our liaison, when stating it was not even anywhere in the paper work we were just ignored. We landed in Cape Town and were stranded for 6 days with no vehicle.
Dealing with the road move coordinator was like dealing with a computer and could never get a straight answer and even complained to our sales person, who literally got her deal and walked away. Elliott's arrived with our goods in Gordons bay like a blaze of Glory, offloaded the truck, unpacked, removed the boxes, made me sign and left, informing me another vehicle would arrive with my plants and a crate. Late that afternoon they arrived with my plants, and certainly not all of them and a table top. I wrote when signing for it that stuff was missing. hahahaha, needless to say I never heard a thing and in discussions with Elliott's they continuously ignore this piece of paper that I signed. After unpacking we found that numerous items that had been packed up in Johannesburg had not been delivered, and the attitude from Elliott's has been disgusting! I have been ignored, I have been told that I need to unpack all my stuff (even though everything was unpacked within the first two days), I have been told that I am wrong, I have virtually been told that we are lying and just claim from our insurance. Not once have they voluntarily called me and kept me in the loop with regard to my missing goods and I have had to follow up with them continuously, and sometimes not getting a response for 7 days. I have been passed from Pillar to post. Elliott's do not give a damn that they have lost our items, some of which are completely irreplaceable. They don't care as we used our own insurance so their attitude is not their problem. We just get told to claim from your insurance. We should not have to claim from our insurance as a result of Elliott's incompetence and lack of concern for other people's property ! We have now been informed that we have to open up a case of theft against Elliott's, the team and the drivers, in order for us to possibly be reimbursed from insurance. Needless to say, my request to Elliott's for all the details of persons involved in the move, in order to open up a case of theft has been ignored. Moving province is stressful enough without having a lot of your goods go missing, this has added more stress and heartache due to the items that are irreplaceable, and has made our transition very unpleasant. I would never recommend this company or the staff that I had to deal with, because they all seem to have the same attitude, they certainly do not give a damn about their customers and are not even apologetic. I will be advising all relevant parties that we dealt with of the shocking service we received from Elliott's and will definitely never recommend them to anyone.</div>

Your company is an absolute JOKE!!!!!!! Do you employ Robots, or do you just not give a continental damn about your customers.

- Your list of missing items is extensive and it would have been impossible for one person acting alone to ***** this quantity of items from your consignment without the entire Elliott crew being involved. This however is NOT the case based on the outcome of the polygraph tests conducted by Elliott.
- Many of the items reported as missing are NOT items that would typically be desirable to ***** during a move.

I trust that you are well.
Thank you so much for sharing your email to me on Hello Peter and thank you for pointing out to me how clearly Elliotts really don't care about this situation and only want to put the blame back on their client, instead of accepting they messed up. Please see my response to you and pointing out where you definately do not have the facts straight. I put this down to a shocking experience, a life lesson that even highly recommended companies mess up and don't care, and just disheartening with the uneccessary cause of stress that has been caused to us.
Please see my response below
Good afternoon Brad I trust that you are well and thank you kindly for your email. I also note that you have posted it as your response on Hello Peter and I will respond to that in due course. Please note my response to your email and please forgive me, but I do not think you can begin to comprehend the Anger and frustration I feel towards Elliotts and my experience with your company over the last two months. This has not been a thorough investigation and if it had been, certain statements would not have been made by your company. Your response shows very clearly, the lack of interest, concern, responsibility and even compassion that Elliotts has with regard to this matter, even more so that not a single person (except for Supervisor that was present on site) from your company had the decency to actually pick up the phone and call me and have a discussion regarding this situation. Maybe if they had or you had, the false accusations you put on me, would not have been made, and Elliotts may have actually have realised they are responsible.
"taking into consideration that you were NOT present at the time of collection in Northriding".
This is totally not true! Please note that I was present the entire day on thursday 1st December 2022 and I was present Friday 2nd December 2022. Please also note that on the 1st and 2nd December whilst your team was packing my home up, my mother in law, who lives with us, was present and my sister in law was present too ensuring that things were being packed along with myself. I departed from the property at 2:20pm in the afternoon of the Friday to drive to Mphumulanga for my sons wedding. Our sales lady and your lady in charge of our move were fully aware of the fact that we had to leave in the afternoon. Please note the following: When I left the property, everything in the house had been packed into boxes and already removed from the house. The house was empty. Boxes were put on the front lawn and being packed onto the shuttle vehicle. Please note, I only left when the 2nd last shuttle vehicle was being packed. All that had to be packed was the goods in the garage and in the office and my plants, which were clearly laid out. I had shown Your supervisor what had to go and he was fully aware of it. My nephew was there to see that the last of the items were taken, which he confirmed when the final shuttle vehicle left. Please note, the items on this shuttle vehicle were not loaded onto the main truck. My nephew drove out behind them. Everything was removed from the property that had to be removed, except the 2 pot plants that were collected at a later stage.
"I am sorry to ask this question but how do we know if all of your items now claimed missing were actually in your residence in Northriding " - the answer to this question is because I packed the curtaining into the plastic crate which was in the garage with the rest of the plastic crates that were delivered to us. Furthermore all these items listed were used on a daily basis.
"Unfortunately, I doubt any customer does a complete audit of their appliances, glasses, trays, containers, cables etc. in their residence prior to their move taking place" - I am and was fully aware of what appliances, glasses etc I had earmarked to be taken with during the move. I spent five months preparing for this move and am fully aware of what I own and what I do not own. Once again, everything was packed by your team and removed off the premises by your team. This has been confirmed on numerous occasions.
"I confirm Elliott uses generic descriptions (i.e. curtains, linen, books, files, ornaments, kitchenware, crockery, cutlery, glassware, clothes, shoes etc.) on our packing inventory to describe the contents of items packed by Elliott. Please consider it is virtually impossible to individually describe and list ‘each and every’ item packed based on quantity and description. Even if this were possible, it would take more than 10 times longer to pack an individual box and would therefore cost significantly more to pack and move."
- How is it then that someone from your organisation can state the following (this is defamatory) - "She is also trying to claim from insurance for items that we did not have registered.' Please note Your Customer Service and Insurance consultant is the one that said I must put a claim in with my insurance company. This is when I informed her that in order to do this we had been advised that we would have to lay a charge of theft in order for the insurance company to process the claim. As you are probably well aware, even then it is more than likely that the insurance company will refuse the claim, especially due to the fact that we do not have team details and you refuse to share the results of the polygraph tests and put the liability back in the hands of Elliotts.
"I don’t believe Elliott is responsible for your missing items and I don’t believe it is fair to blame Elliott for your missing items when you have not considered the other possibilities".
Everything was removed that was supposed to have been removed from the premises so I cannot understand how you can possibly say that Elliott's is not responsible. Once the items left 357 Aureole Avenue, they were in the care of Elliotts. The fact that my goods were seperated and not all transported on 1 vehicle to Cape Town is concerning and definately the responsibility of Elliotts. Your supervisor and his team ensured that everything was packed up and removed from the property, after that, something went wrong. That is the responsibility of Elliotts. It is incredibly disheartening to see how an organisation like Elliotts, would rather try and accuse and blame their client, instead of considering that they lost or misplaced their clients goods.
Also the lack of urgency in this matter shows the lack of concern on the part of Elliotts. Maybe if people had actually reacted more speedily when I started reporting the missing items, maybe they would have been found. These items may not mean anything to your company, but they certainly did to me.
I trust that you are well.
