Promise not delivered
I used Elliotte mobility to move my house. My decision was based on the friendly an arcuate way the representative assessed everything at my old house. The attention to detail like do you still have your TV’s box otherwise we will provide you one for it. The same with stabilising your washing machine. Everything would be packed in eco crates and unpacked exactly as it was at the previous house except the kitchen that will be unpacked everything sorted on the counters so you can decide where to pack it. This is not what happened everything was packed and an inventory made by the team which look really like the knew what they were doing. Everting looked like it was just thrown out of the boxes on the other side things that came form the bedroom ended in the kitchen, kitchen things in the garage. After sending the pictures and complaining I was assured the representative will visit the house to see what was done and a team will be dispatched to get everything back to where it belonged. My frustration is no senior came to see what happened. The same team as the one the day before was send they had no inventory and neither do I the only thing they could help me with is put the things that look the same together. From there I had to start sorting out my house, I’m not even remotely done. Is this the pride you take in your company? Moving is already a big deal making it worse by someone that claim they are professionals that is totally unacceptable.
Dear Mr. Nel
Thank you for taking my telephone call this afternoon. Unfortunately, moving home is seldom a comfortable experience. In fact, most often it is a time of discomfort and trauma. All we can do is to minimize the discomfort and we aim to do everything possible to achieve this objective.
As I explained to you over the phone earlier today, our price for packing, on condition the unpacking is done at the time of delivery, includes unpacking. One of the problems involved in unpacking however, is that as items are removed from cartons these have to be placed somewhere, unless of course we place items directly into cupboards, wardrobes, chests etc. However, the problem with us unpacking directly into cupboards, wardrobes, chests etc. is that you (our customer) cannot find anything after everything has been unpacked and our unpackers cannot possibly be expected to know how you like your shelves and drawers sorted. Therefore, if we unpack, all we can do is place the contents of cartons on counter tops, tables, chests, and, if we run out of space on these surfaces, on the floor, which is not really advisable. For this reason, many customers prefer to do the unpacking themselves, allowing us, when the unpacking has been done, to collect the empty cartons and packing materials.
I am not sure how many of your items ended up in the wrong rooms and I have already asked my Operations Manager to please investigate with our supervisor. Of course, there is no excuse for the fact that your full expectations of our service were not met and I have no hesitation in conveying to you our most sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. You may rest assured, however, that this matter will be treated by us with the utmost gravity in our sincere determination to prevent repetition and to provide only the very best possible service for our customers.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for having used the services of Elliott Mobility and to wish you great joy, happiness and success in your new home.
With best wishes,
Sincerely,
Brad Barker
