Elliot bicycle transport to CT - don't leave without them !

I have shipped my bicycle to the Cape Cycle Tour (the "Argus" to us oldies) a number of times with Elliot Mobility, but I believe I maybe becoming their voodoo client, as on more than one occasion I got the arrangements messed up ... the first year I forgot to pitch up to drop off the bike at Cycle lab, and Joan from Elliot had to call me after 5pm to find where I was, and let me deliver the bike the next morning at their Midrand depot. Then twice now I have booked overseas travel leaving 2 days after the Cycle race was finished, so I could not collect the bike on due date, and both times Brad Barker has kindly held the bike for me in storage at no extra charge. Last year I fell chronically ill 4 days before the race, after my bike had already been shipped with Elliot, and I never made the flight to Cape Town. So my bike went to the Argus, but not me. It went all they way there and safely back home with Elliot, without me. But, better than saving me from the situations above, is the pleasure of working with the staff at Elliot. I'm proud to be a South African when I see how Elliot operates with their attitude and their accocomodation of their customer needs. Even the staff unpacking out bicycles in the tent on the Cape Town cricket club field are fun and easy to deal with. When you arrive for the Argus weekend you are (usually) in a good mood looking to enjoy the weekend and the ride, and the Elliot staff extend that feeling of goodwill and fun. I've enjoyed every interaction with the company so far. See you next year for my 7th ride !
