Disgusting service from Elliot Mobility

So, moved last week with elliot Mobility from Cape Town to Centurion and the entire experience was horrid, to say the least. On the packing day, the crew (and their manager) highlight that our goods were too much for one truck and as such would have to pay for additional load(that I fought tooth and nail)...But completely lost the battle of my goods being taken to Centurion in one batch...On arrival (of first batch), I discovered missing items, boxes incorrectly labelled(kitchen stuff labeled as bedroom stuff), wardrobe cartons that should have arrived with clothes on hangers arrived with 90% of these at bottom of the boxes and as such was a waste of my money! Lounge suit damaged and in one box with dishes my hand came out with a black substance which turned out to be jeyes fluid(packed with dishes!!!) And a few days later, second batch arrived, my bedroom side lamps were packed In the same box as heavy tv brackets such that they are damaged AND AND(endless list...) I send a formal complaint to the CEO, Brad...and the jist of his responce was: 1. My Cape Town crew do not recall the missing stuff( I asked my supervisor) 2. The incorrectly labeled boxes must have been your fault-still thrown back on this one His suggestion, Claim from your insurance But ofcourse I am sorry for the inconvenience. The most disappointing responce from someone who is the final touch point at such a huge establishment...And he has pretty much walked away!!!! Disgusting and I will make sure that I spread this as far as I can(my network, social media and professional environment). Tired of being taken for granted by these big guns because assumedly I am small fry to their bottom line. Disgusting service and moreso disappointing responce from their man in charge!

Dear Thoko

I have only just seen your post on Hellopeter.com and I apologize for my delayed response. The comment you made in your post about Elliott asking you to pay for the additional volume moved is factually incorrect. We never once asked you to pay any additional amount for any additional volume moved and I told you at the time that Elliott would absorb the cost of any additional volume moved because our Cape Town office had failed to do a pre-move survey. Our quotation was based on a list of items to be moved which you supp****.

I am really sorry your recent move with Elliott did not go as well as planned and that your full expectations of our service were not met. Regarding the damages to some of your furniture items, please note the very nature of household effects, with the many varying shapes and sizes, provides INHERENT RISKS which, despite the care and attention devoted by our people to the handling of our customers' possessions, cannot be eliminated. There is not one removal organisation in the world that has found a successful formula for the elimination of the risk of damage.

Elliott is proud of the reputation we have established for our superior service, but, even we have to admit that damage does sometimes occur. Because of this, it is standard practice, not only in South Africa but in most countries, to offer, at additional cost, the facility of insurance protection.

As insurance protection was not arranged by you through Elliott Mobility, I did ask you to please direct your claim to your own insurers.

Because of the inconvenience caused, Elliott would be very happy to cover your excess/deductible as a gesture of goodwill and in the interests of good customer relations. Please contact me directly in this regard.

With best wishes,

Sincerely,

Brad Barker
