Ellies Inverter is poor quality

Ellies 2400va inverters only have a 6 month warranty on the 2 batteries. Cost of unit is R12k Both Batteries died after 8 months use. No recourse when calling them and one of their staff admitted that the product was not very good. Replacement batteries are 2400 each but with a 3 year warranty. So my dilemma is do I buy the new batteries and put it into what is probably an inferior product or do just start over with another brand.
