Ellies **** about the fault and won't honour their guarantee

I have purchased 3 Ellies inverters, all 3 of them failed within 90 days of purchase. The first one - a 720W purchased from Makro in Amanzimtoti- was repaired by them after more than 9 weeks of waiting. Makro were useless in providing updates and would not even take phone calls to enquire about progress. Where it would run a TV, DSTV and router for more than 2 hours when I sent it in, it came back and will not last more than 30 minutes. (Note to self - in future mark the batteries you send in). The second was purchased at Builders Warehouse in Vereeniging and was repaired. Kudos to Vereeniging Builders, they kept us informed of what was happening every step of the way. The third was a nightmare. Purchased at Builders Warehouse Park Rynie. - after 8 weeks of waiting I threw my toys and after a few more hours I was told that the inverter had been damaged by a power surge. THIS IS A BLATANT LIE! The inverter was protected by their own surge protector which is still working perfectly. The unit failed in the middle of a period of load-shedding, so where did the surge come from? Was this surge so clever that it only damaged the inverter and no other appliances and managed to pass through their surge protector unnoticed? I don't think so, I think that they are busy going bankrupt because they sell inferior products that they cannot maintain. Check their price on the JSE, it has lost more than 90% of value. Most places have stopped selling their products as they are cheap and nasty.
