DON'T BUY AN ELLIES INVERTER

In April 2015 I bought a 600W Ellies inverter. 2 months later the unit developed a fault so I returned it and was told they had tested it and found nothing wrong. When I argued that I would not drive from Randburg twice if there was no fault they agreed to replace it with a new one. They gave me one off the floor that appears to have a hand written repair label attached. I questioned if it is new and was assured that it was but that they had just removed it from the box for display.Tonight was our 1st load shedding since and it ran for just 8 mins before the battery was flat. When the power was restored it charged for just 11 mins before showing a full battery.I turned off the mains and ran just 1 computer and after 11 mins it was flat again. Recharged a again which took 11 mins and again ran flat after 8 or 9 mins. When I went to the repair store at about 11am the floor was littered with inverters that had been returned as faulty that morning. These inverters are not fit for purpose but Ellies continue to sell them and have increased the price by R1500 in just 2 months. Profiteering me thinks.
