Do not purchase Ellies Electronics FBIT1200 Trolley Inverter - Black (720W)

I was recently given a two-year-old inverter and lead acid batteries from a family member who has installed full solar power and no longer needs the unit. I called Ellies in Cape Town several times before I got through only to be told that if I want the batteries checked, I should take the batteries to a car dealership, as Ellies do not check batteries, even if they supp**** them. When I asked if the inverter could be checked, I was told that this would take between 5 and 10 days. The tone of the person I spoke with was extremely aggressive, so I decided to call Ellies' head office. Each time I got through to their exchange and asked for the Customer Relations Manager the call was cut off! I then looked up on the Builders Warehouse site reviews of the product in question to find that besides the disgusting lack of customer service, that the product for the price paid, is extremely sub-standard. Thus, I would suggest to all and sundry not to purchase goods from a company that offers NO support to end users and sells products that regularly fail.
