Automatic Subscription

I joined Elite Singles for a period of 3 months, paying the subscription fee by card. I had no intention of renewing my subscription but on the day it was due to expire my subscription was renewed and my card debited for a new subscription fee. I immediately cancelled my subscription and deleted my profile - on the day it expired and have not made use of the new subscription. Elite Singles is refusing to refund the fee. It turns out that way down in the bottom of the Terms and Conditions it states that they will automatically renew the subscription indefintely. I am sure that this is a ploy to catch unsuspecting people and generate income through deception as no email is sent warning you that your subscription is about to expire and asking if you would like to renew it. Please could you help.
