We recently purchased a property in Northcliff, Randburg, and took occupation at the end of November 2025. The electric fence was not working properly from day one. The previous owners claimed it was functional when they left. We attempted to contact the registered Electric Fence System Installer (EFSI) who issued the Certificate of Compliance (CoC): Crispen Mulchakati from Electrosure (EFSI 00987, contact: ***, ***). Despite multiple calls and messages, there was no response. We then hired an independent registered electrician for an inspection. Their report clearly showed the installation does not comply with SANS 10222-3 and relevant electrical regulations—meaning the CoC should never have been issued. We shared the report with Electrosure, but again, no calls returned, no replies, and no engagement whatsoever. This has left us with a non-compliant, potentially unsafe electric fence that now requires costly repairs. I've lodged formal complaints with the Department of Employment and Labour (Gauteng office) and notified relevant associations (SAEFIA and ECASA) to investigate the improper CoC issuance and the installer's conduct. Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer service from Electrosure. Homeowners beware—verify any CoC thoroughly before relying on it. I hope this prompts a response and resolution.
