Prescribed debt

I took a loan in 2012 which had insurance on in case I default. I was then unable to pay back this loan. This loan should have been paid up by their insurance that they had. Now this is just reflecting on my credit report and it have now prescribed, can this be resolved. But I see the company have not been responding to other complain recently.
