More expensive in the end

When selling my two flats in Cape Town, I responded to the Electra Zone Group combo special of any three COC inspections for R950, plus a R300 discount offered as a first time client. This was much lower than the other quotations I had obtained. They required 50% payment upfront as a deposit. After the inspections were done, I was sent the reports and invoice for repairs for a further R850 and R950 each, saying the DB boards needed to be cleaned and serviced, and the geysers need to be put on earth leakage (But on the plumbing report it said the geyser was compliant on earth leakage). When I queried these items and the contradiction in the report, I was told they will not release the COC's to me unless I make the additional payments. I obtained a second opinion from another electrician, who confirmed that both geysers are on earth leakage and everything with the DB boards tested fine and did not require servicing and cleaning. So I decided to cut my losses with Electra Zone Group and got my COC's through an independent plumber and electrician who charged R500 for the plumbing COC and R970 for the electrical COC, with no additional repair charges afterwards. This turned out cheaper in the end than the Electra zone combo special plus their additional repair charges.
