We took the chance
So we took a chance last year after seeing so many negative reviews on Elmo Coaches. We booked a bus in September from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth. Departure time was 6pm, the bus arrived after 6pm. We boarded the bus and departed, it was so hot in the bus, we were told that the aircon wasn’t working. At the first stop, some technical Eldo coaches people were busy working on something for a good 20 minutes. We were on the road again, however the drivers wouldn’t slow down, they were dangerously overtaking every other bus or truck. Nobody knows what the rush was for, this is a 15 hour trip to PE. About 1 hour from PE they eventually slowed down which was good. We arrived safely but after getting off the bus we noticed there was oil coming out from the engine at the rear.
On our return back, we departed at 5pm, yet again the drivers just wouldn’t slow down. We stopped twice on a 15 hour road trip, that is unacceptable. We arrived in Joburg at 6:30 instead of the proposed 8am.
My verdict. Don’t travel alone with Eldo Coaches, you will be frustrated. They have so much potential but I don’t think they realize that. That journey was the first and the last with Eldo Coaches.
