Reckless and dangerous driving - Citiliner

My complaint refers to the reckless driving of a Citiliner bus, HB34BYJ-GP on the N3 south bound between Hilton and Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal around 23:00 on Wednesday 09 March 2022.

I was travelling within the 60KPH speed limit on the Town Hill section which narrows to two lanes just before the arrestor bed, with the left lane being for trucks over 10 tons and the right lane for all other vehicles.

The driver of the bus came up behind me at speed and overtook me on the inside lane just before for the split and continued to drive at a speed through the 60PKH section of the roadworks. This road is both dark, dangerous and slippery at night and at the speed he was going, he would not have been able to stop had he needed to and could have caused a major accident. At the end of the roadworks, he continued to speed at well above the 100PKH limit and then took the Chatterton Road off ramp into Pietermaritzburg.

Not only was his driving reckless, he put himself, his passengers and other road users at grave risk on a section of road that is notorious for accidents .

This is unacceptable and needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency
