Disgusting eldo coaches experience...
I don’t even know where to begin writing this because when I think of my first experience with Eldo coaches I had to endure such inhumane treatment
I was booked on the 10pm bus on Thursdays night and I guess unfortunately for men I arrived a bit early. 9pm I think and then I went to find out if the bus was on time and I was told that there’s already a bus outside to Durban and I can get on that one. I remember looking and only seeing an unbranded bus standing there. We boarded anyway because I didn’t know any better. As soon as the bus exited Parkstation gates we were in hell. The bus was ice cold, freezing and I was sitted directly opposite a broken window tied together with some cables or something, (I have pictures if you’d like to see them) Then next to us was a door and a very shady looking like toilet. The wind which was coming from both was a nightmare. Before we hit the N3 a lady had already walked to the front to complain to the driver and we asked him to make a call to the call centre and ask them to ring us another bus because we didn’t believe we would make it to Durban. He didn’t listen to us. That’s when I proceeded and took the pics and a video of the towels which we stashed alongside the toilet try block the wind which didn’t work. I had to literally covermyself with a blanket in order to try block the wind which was coming from all over the place, up above our heads from the windows…it was a nightmare. By then the call centre had already been contacted by one of the passengers. Then a second passenger called the call centre again and whichever agent answered asked to speak to the driver… by then I lost it. I told them there’s no way I’m allowing a driver to speak on the phone and drive because by then I had decided that I will be laying an official complaint about this. I didn’t book a trip to Durban just to get sick from this…mind you I just had surgery in February this year so this was a very uncomfortable ride for me. When we stopped at Montrose the shady looking driver said something about he’s just a subcontractor and he didn’t know that there was something wrong with the bus. This time I told him he better shutup as the damage was already done. 2 more ladies were already complaining about post-surgery issues like myself. We then proceeded and drove in those miserable conditions right past PMB where he waqs meant to drop off some people but he drove past there for some odd reason.
I am livid at being treated like this as if I somebody was doing me a favour. I booked on time and I wasn’t a stand passenger not that they deserve such. I don’t even believe that this bus was road worthy…it was shaking/vibrating all the way, we saw a ****roach at some point, the seats were filthy, nobody dared to go to that shady toilet with wind gushing out like that. When we got to Durban the driver jumped out and offloaded all the bags and went back in the bus and drove off. I don’t even know what the point of being given the stickers was. Basically the whole experience was just really disgusting then I get back and send an email complaining... no response, the so called supervisor Seselby or something like also didn't return my calls or reply to my email. maybe twitter and fb publicity will certainly get you moving!!!
