Guest house refuses to repay deposit even though I have followed their policy.

I made a booking for may 20th, then unfortunately i had to cancel, I canceled on the 16th May 2022 which is as a calander day exactly 4days before the 29th. I received the cancelation confirmation on the 16th May 2022, which once again is 4 days before the 20th May 2022, as per the guest houses cancelation policy, the cancelation fee will be free of charge as long as you cancel 4 days prior to the booked date, which is exactly what I did and now the guest house is refusing to return my deposit. Which is ridiculous because i followed exactly what their policy says, so right now there are robbing me and that is just not right, o have seeped legal advice and I will talk this further if this is not sorted out immediately!
