Tenants should be aware that EIRA is actually Tupa operating under a new name; however, based on the collective experiences of multiple tenants, the name change will not reflect any meaningful change in management practices or conduct.

Multiple tenants have been intimidated when raising legitimate concerns, particularly around billing matters. A major issue relates to electricity charges: tenants have received bills that are substantially inflated compared to actual consumption with unexplained increases, and no proper supporting documentation provided when clarification is requested. This has resulted in significant financial strain and disputes.

There have also been instances where tenants were locked out of their premises without proper legal process. In some cases, management has physically confiscated tenants’ keys, denying them access to their rented properties — an extremely serious and distressing action.

Based on the consistent pattern reported by multiple tenants, there is a clear lack of transparency and accountability. For this reason, people should not rent from EIRA (formerly Tupa). There are other agencies that operate professionally and lawfully, and prospective tenants would be far better served choosing one of them instead.
