Nightmare @ 86 Public

I was a victim of racial profiling and black on black violence by the waiter Ellen. Sitting on a table with white corporates, when her numbers did not add up Ellen automatically assumed that the two black girls with afros must be the culprit who did not pay their bill. 1)While we are eating our meals and enjoying our food, Ellen decides to come show us the bill, just to make sure we know how much it is.Never in all my life have I had a meal interrupted by someone trying to show me the bill. I can read the amount on the menu. Why? Maybe she is just checking that we can afford that R1000 bill? 2) When we do ask for the bill, she refuse to return the phone that we gave her to charge until we pay the bill- So now she is holding the phone hostage. Never in my life! 3)We pay our bill and as we finish our last rounds Ellen stands behind us guarding us, why? As we get up to leave Ellen starts accusing us of not paying our bill-This after she personally swiped our cards. She begins talking about a bottle of Gin she served. 4)We did not come with the corporates, we only shared a table with them. They ordered the bottle of gin and she gave it to them. These white corporates are still sitting on the table, yet she insist that our part of the bill was not paid. I ask her if there is a problem then why does she not engage the table instead of accusing us, the black artist looking girls with afros. She continues to insist that we did not pay our part of the bill and she wants to see proof that we have paid. 5)I am insulted, we show her receipts and bank sms that we paid and she continues to harrass us until we call the manager to assist. How dare you, is this how you treat your customers? The entire experience was mortifying, humiliating and insulting. Really, that was targeting, when her maths did not balance she immediately assumed and harrased the black girls. How dare you!
