Missed flight due to chronic illness and couldn't be bothered to honour their part ofcthe "Travel insurance"

I booked a return trip from Jhb>Amsterdam via Opodo.de flying EgyptAir on Oct2 >Nov5. However I missed my flights back home due to a severe MS flareup, suffering from debilitating backache and couldn't make it to Schiphol in time. I did however pay the full €71 CNXAST 152 "Travel Insurance" when purchasing my ticket, which is supposed to cover "compensation for missed flights". Spent 17hours on a desolated Schiphol Airport and finally got hold of a good friend in Oman who kindly lent me €550, just in order for me to fly back. When talking to Opodo.de about my ********** ordeal (from which I still haven't recovered) I get different excuses every day....such as the Airline doesn't allow "no shows" as being elligble. I am now turning to Hellopeter to see whether the same has happened to other pax. Egypt Air couldn't even be bothered to phone me asking if I was alright. No text messages or emails either. Simply thrown to the wolves. Flightright says I have a strong case........Turns out the Travel Insurance was Europ Assist-the same company who dropped me 10years ago on my previous visit to the Netherlands, when my suitcase just went missing and turned up 3 weeks later in Istanbul Airport! When I went to claim it on OR Tambo it had been broken open and half of my chronic meds were ******, as well of my clothing. Took them 6 months to offer me less than half I had quoted them. What's to do????
