Flight delay

Good Day I was on holiday in Egypt, I was to leave Sharmal Sheik on the 8th July at 9:30pm which meant I'd be landing in Cairo at 10:30pm . I had a connecting flight booked with Ethiopian Airlines for 2:20am the 9th July with a stop in Addis Ababa and landing in South Africa at 1pm the 9th , so that I could spend Eid with family. However my Egypt Air one hour domestic flight was delayed and delayed. MS29 - we reached Cairo almost 4 hours late ! We entered Caito Airport at 2am and missed our flight. Egypt Air offices was rude and refused to assist us, not willing to listen it was there fault. We had no option but to book spend an extra R24000 on new flights and the earliest available being 2 days later. We now have to spend on extra accommodation and food and new flights. Money that we don't have and were not planning to spend. How does a one hour flight be delayed so much? Who's fault is it ? Please assist
