Worst Moving experience of my Life

Good day

I have sent a WhatsApp with photos of the damage caused by the team of amateurs allocated to our move on Saturday 1 June 2024, I attach the photos again.

I have spoken to Mariesa about what happened with no indication from Mariesa that anything constructive would be done to hold anyone accountable for their actions. All I received were explanations as to where things could have gone wrong and questions as to whether I phoned to report the behaviours on the day.

I attach a call log of my WhatsApp call at 16h58 on 1 June 2024 and a call log image of my calls to EeziMove over the last few days including a call logged at 16h55 which lasted 8s. This was while I was driving around in my car looking for your truck that could not make a simple trip down Witkoppen into Main Rd, left into the R55 and left into the main entrance of the Beaulieu estate to deliver our move without getting lost.

Below are the point forms of the events on Saturday:

The truck arrived just before 13h00 and then proceeded to be negative about the entry to the property.

The picture of the truck sent to me was an 8.5 ton Hino, the truck that actually arrived was over 10 ton and much higher than advised. All Mariesa could say is that I was advised that the vehicle in the picture may not be the vehicle sent on the day. So why send the picture?

Around 13h30, your team decided the truck could actually get in and they started to move. The furniture was laid directly on the sand road with no protection to pack into the truck. When it came to moving the piano there were many delays and complaints as to how heavy it was. You agreed and quoted to move a piano – why did you agree if you can’t do it?

I told the team not to pack a carpet which was in the original inventory and asked them to move some plastic tiles, a small light pot plant table and a candelabra instead of the carpet, these 3 items together did not take up more space than the carpet. After this request Bernard (that was the name I was given) started to ask me if I would tip him. I told him I would think about it and see what happened in the off-loading. I was quite put out and shocked considering all the messages I got from Eezi Move stating how well your staff are paid and that tipping is not to be done. Clearly there is a miscommunication between the staff and management. I felt intimidated by Bernard, in light of what happened, I wonder who actually makes the calls at Eezi Move is it the staff or management, is the culture at Eezi Move one of ****gery? Why was my furniture damaged, because I refused to be intimidated into procuring a tip or committing to a tip?

Eventually at 15h40 the truck left, WhatsApp log to my husband waiting at 485 for delivery log attached.

I followed at 16h28, the truck had not yet arrived at 485. At 16h52, I get a call from my husband to say the truck is lost I better find it. I call the truck to find out where they are, they are in Rose Rd. They hang up on me because I called them stupid. I call again and they refuse to answer. ( Call log attached). I find the truck on Rose Rd and direct them to follow me to 485. This is done at 20km/h.

We eventually arrive as it is getting dark and now there is attitude because it’s late, dark and they are hungry. My husband takes over the supervision and motivation of the team.

In the meantime I had bought some KFC for the team which we gave to them near the end of the unloading.

This is my customer experience.

We used Eezi Move as a consequence of a referral from someone we respect, as it currently stands we will not be referring Eezi Move to anyone.

My expectation would be that a senior manager or owner would come to site to investigate.

Kind Regards

I sent the above email to you on 5 June. You have had a whole month to contact me as soon as possible. I am sure this is your standard reply to convince potential customers that you truly care. Dear potential customers, their rates may be competitive but they do not care, their staff attempt to bully you into tipping them. One wonders in fact who is in charge of this organisation as if the staff are allowed to get away with bullying customer they are probably bullying everyone in the organisation, a moving mafia. Do not believe anything that is said it is all smoke and mirrors.
