Eezi Moves *********** Moving Company

It’s taken a while for me to take the time to write this review as relocating and settling takes time. Last October we decided we are relocating to CPT. In November we scouted moving companies and eezi moves was on the list . Made an appointment and Cole came through to have a look and quote us. We requested 2 quotes one with full packing included. As time continued we settled with the company to go the move. We did tell them we were initially moving Mid December but now are meant to be in CPT on 1 Jan and moving into the home 2 Jan so it’s over the festive season, will they be able to ensure an efficient move , we were assured that there is no need to worry. About a week and a half before the move we contacted Cole to ask if they could do a full pack of the house as well, he assured it was not a problem and he came through again and did an estimate on boxes and asked ME if it will be enough , I merely said I am not a moving company so will trust his judgement as he is the expert . All was signed and payments made. As time started to close in, I requested details of when will they actually pack and was told not to worry it will be scheduled early enough. This was the daily story and I could not get hold of Cole . It was Xmas Eve and still no confirmed schedule. On 26 December we get an sms saying packing will be done 27 December and the team will be there by 17.30 . I was rather furious as this was cutting it fine as we were departing on 29 December . We waited the entire day only for the crew to pitch after 6pm . They were exhausted, complaining and angry as they had packed an entire house just before coming to mine. They had not been briefed and did not bring enough boxes, no markers or labels and they were not told about how large the packing would be, we a family of five . Instead of doing one room at a time the “manager” directed them to all the rooms randomly to pack. We had no control over any room (I had used Pickford previously and they came 3 days in advance for a local move and packed a room at a time so we could direct them and ensure everything was packed safely) they were packing however they pleased. I tried to contact Cole and the company but nobody was available. I asked the team to leave by 8.30pm. We had to buy them dinner and drinks as they were exhausted . The “manager” said that this required at least 3days of work not 1.5 days I was assured they would be at the house by 7am. Lo and behold they only arrive around 11.30 once again with the same team from the previous night , exhausted already. Needless to say the packing was atrocious as again we had different people in different rooms packing at the same time , my husband and I tried to be everywhere but it was useless. Plus they ran out of boxes , lucky I had bought boxes!!!! They only finally finished just before midnight. We had to provide meals and drinks through the day This was the worst moving experience EVER! On arriving to CPT on 31 Dec we get an sms that delivery will take place 1 Jan, WHEN WE EXPLICITLY ADVISED IT WAS 2 Jan, as we were only getting keys on 1 Jan in the evening and had to inspect the place . We had to get the agent to hand the keys coz the truck was waiting outside at 3pm. The team to unpack were exhausted and there were only 4/5 guys so we had to help carry things as well. They used our ladders to move items . We had to get them meals and drinks. While unpacking we found that items from different rooms were mixed, shoes packed with clothes and linen, furniture was sc****d and damaged. It was as absolute nightmare as despite my husband and I trying to label the boxes, they didn’t adhere to any logical and hygienic packing methods. I have tried since January to contact the company including Cole and even sent pics through , not a single person bothered to call back or provide some sort of acknowledgment or compensation . Every call was received with a “they in a meeting “ , “ they seeing clients “ , Cole asked me to send all the details to customer care department and there too nobody responded. This is clearly in my mind a company that needed to hit the year end target and bit off more than they could chew and could not accept accountability for their greed. A moving company is meant to lighten the stress of moving , Eezi moves did none of that .
