Disappointed and deceived

In Sept. 2025, I used the services of Eezi Move to move 5 specific items of furniture from Pretoria to my daughter in CT. (They come across as professional and well organised - also recommended by a friend). The standard Furniture Removal form, which I had to complete, required amongst others, the insured value of each item - which put me at ease). Upon delivery in Cape Town, 2 out of 5 items were badly damaged – clearly due to reckless or amateurish handling. Most annoyingly, the delivery crew tried to persuade my daughter that these items were already damaged before collection in Pretoria (as if I would send damaged items to her). They even forged the delivery note to prove that!! Unfortunately for them, we had the relevant photographic evidence to disprove their lies. I subsequently contacted Eezi Move, and forwarded the before- and after- photographs. Subsequently, I received an email referring to fine print included in their contract, which stated that their insurance only covers: hijacking, loss or overturning of a truck. Furthermore, according to them, it was my responsibility to arrange personal insurance for the items transported by them. I am totally dissatisfied with the services of Eezi Move. Be aware that the insured value appearing on their standard form does not cover damage. Besides, insurance is no substitute for basic care and respect for your belongings. My recommendation is therefore to look elsewhere, stay away from Eezi Move.
