Eezi Move

<p>I booked Eezi Move to put the contents of one Somerset West home into storage in June 2016 and then deliver to my new home in October. </p> <p>During transit they broke a beautiful large mirror, a glass lantern, lost a support from my American style fridge freezer (so it can't stand straight now) and broke a leg off an antique table. One man even smashed the glass top of my coffee table whilst refitting it in front if me. I had paid them extra to pack my things but I chose to unpack so I could decide where to put everything. This allowed me to see that several of the cartons had just had my belongings thrown into them. Bottles of cleaning products were chucked in upside down resulting in abrasive product going all over everything else. Glasses hadn't been wrapped. It was chaotic.</p> <p>Later I searched for my power drill only to discover it had gone missing!</p> <p>I took photos of all the damage and reported it in detail. They asked for 30 days to examine the case but that was just a delaying tactic. After 30 days I heard nothing. I chased and chased. Eventually, much later, they said the contract limits compensation to R1,000 and that is all I received.</p> <p>Under South African law there is protection for consumers against unfair contracts. Eezi Move's contract is definitely unfair. As their paying customer they had a duty of care to me. They were entrusted with property of value which they treated recklessly resulting in much damage.</p> <p>The terms of their existing contract prove they are not acting professionally. If they gave the service and care they promise they could afford to offer adequate compensation because goods would not be damaged and so they'd never need to compensate. But they offer minimal compensation because they know their staff smash and break things.</p> <p>If I could give this sorry outfit less than one star I would. They are atrocious and irresponsible. I will never, ever use them again and tell everybody I can about my experience. If anyone would like to see the photos of the damage done, just ask.</p> <p>And Google them for more complaints!</p>
