Symposium cancelled without notice

<p>We were booked to attend the Effectiv Financial Management in Schools Symposium at the Cape Town Lodge & Hotel on the 4th & 5th May 2017. The booking and payment was made to Educo on 31/3/2017 in order to get the early bird rate.</p> <p>I emailed Educo on 24/4/2017 to confirm our registration to which I received the reply "Received".</p> <p>No further correspondence was received from Educo and I arrived at the venue at 6.45m to be told then there was no such symposium on their schedule. Various call were made and eventually we got through to Michael at Educo an hour later to be told that it had been cancelled and all the delegates had been informed. Besides myself and my boss, there were 2 ladies from another school who had also arrived. None of us had received any advice about the symposium not happening.</p> <p>I asked Michael for the Manager, and I was informed that I needed to call Julia after 8am. When I arrived back at the office I called and could not get an answer until over 2 hours later when Michael once again said I needed to talk to Julia but she was unavaible. I left an urgent message for her to call me. I also emailed requesting the immediate refund, to which I received a response that they would pay me the next day. I said this was unacceptable and I wanted payment before the end of the day. No payment came through and today they are not answering their telephones again, or responding to my email.</p> <p>I contacted the two speakers who were to present the symposium and neither had been booked for these two days.
