Never will I ever.. book a flight with eDreams again!!

After booking a flight from Athens to Crete on Ryanair via eDreams our flight was cancelled by the airline. The airline sent us an email notifying us and promising a full refund for the flight costs, however there was no mention of the R756.25 mediation fee charged by eDreams. After searching the eDreams web site for an email address I could use (I found none) I had no choice but to call the "24/7" international help number. I tired to call it three times on the evening I received notification from Ryanair. Each time I held on the line for 20 minutes plus to no answer. the following day I tried again and after a 20 minute wait I finally got through. The man on the other end of the line explained they couldn't refund the mediation fee because they had booked the flights and it wasnt their fault the flight had been cancelled. I then went back to Ryanair to ask if they would compensate me, they agreed but asked me for a letter from eDreams stating that they would not refund me. So after another 20 minute wait I got through to another very rude gentleman who told me his system is down, that there was nothing he could do for me and that I should call back in 4 hours. This has already cost me a fortune in international calls and instead of making a note of my request to process when his system was back up and running her flat out refused to help me, offered no alternative but to call back (spending more of my money) and put the phone down on me while I was talking to him. eDreams makes a big song and dance about customer service on its web site but customer service doesn't exist when talking about this company. Not to mention the fact that I have still received not a single communication from eDreams about the cancellation of my flight. When are they hoping I find out? When I arrive in Athens thinking I have a connecting flight to Crete only to find out thats not the case? But they were very happy to charge me R756.25 for "mediation". Shocking company, shocking service. Do yourself a favor and book directly with the airlines.
