Edge Fitness - Incorrect billing and hand over

My gym contract was cancelled last year, shortly after my contract had expired.

I want to rejoin the gym and surprise surprise, I have been handed over to debt collectors. What for as: 1. I did not make use of the gym facilities after cancelling my gym contract 2. I was never contacted of any monies outstanding, else I would have queries why the contract had not been cancelled as was requested 3. I was not advised that I was being handed over, as I again, would have queried the fact that my gym contract had been cancelled

My wife went to query this 3 weeks ago, every time she gets told that they will sort it out and call back, every week my wife calls and still nothing has been done, She is told that Edge is not able to do anything as the account is handed over.

This is unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
