Who to blame? Me/Edgars or TransUnion?
I am not quite sure what rating to leave....I don't know if it's Edgars who messed up or TransUnion.
My TransUnion account shows that I have an Edgars Account with an outstanding amount of just over the R140 in arrears. It also shows that it's is a revolving account which means it's deducted monthly and the monthly installment is R49-00. So off I went to Edgars to try and find out what's going on. The very helpful lady checked my I.D number and even printed me a document on the 1st of September 2019 where it clearly states NO ACCOUNT RECORD ON FILE.
So, I called TransUnion with this information and they still refuse to remove the bad debt from my name. I was told by TransUnion to go and open a Identity theft case even after I tried to explain that, that would not be right as Edgars does not even pick me up as a client. They just kept insisting I get the case opened. At Herm**** Police station they did not want to assist me at first as they said this was not something they normally do. They don’t even have anything on their books to open a identity theft case if that had been the case. So they only assisted in giving a sworn statement. The Station commander said in order to open an Identity theft case, you need someone to blame. In my case we don’t know who to blame seeing that Edgars does not even have me on their Data base as a client to begin with. So my question is to Edgars, Please could you clear my name with TransUnion.
If its going to mean I need to pay the R140 odd rand to get my name clear so be it then. I just need my name to be cleared. This would not be displayed as a admittance of debt guilt, for me its about getting my name cleared. I don't have any accounts, this is the only thing holding me back now....And its not even my fault.
