Well done, Edgars

Yesterday I made a purchase of just over R700 on my Edgars account. When at the pay point, they said I have a R100 gift voucher for my upcoming birthday and asked if I want to use it. "Sure", I said. "Now is as good a time as any." Today I wanted to exchange a top of R199, since it was too small. I could not find the right size and decided to exchange it for cosmetics, but the lady at the cosmetics counter said she does not have tbe authority to exchange my top but she would go get someone to assist. She quickly returned saying the other person could not come since she is "too busy". She tried to find someone else to assist, but could not. To save time, I eventually said I would stand in the queue at the pay point, return the item and then go back for the cosmetics. Low and behold, when I returned the item, I was refunded only R172 and a couple of cents. When I asked why I was not refunded the whole amount, the lady said they held back a percentage of my birthday voucher. I was stunned. So, they gave me a birthday GIFT voucher (they didn't say "spend R700 and get R100 off for your birthday") and then took back a quarter thereof just because I had to return something because someone was "too busy". This despite the fact that I then spent snothet R420 on cosmetics. Well done, Edgars...
