ut of the system items (shoes)

On Friday i went to buy two (2) pairs of shoes which were on sale. I only got to pay for one pair since i was told that i could not purchase the second pair because it was 'out of the system'. It didn't make sense to me as to why they would keep stuff in the shop if they are not in the system. I then suggested that he price match the shoes with something else which because i really want those shoes, which he refused. I went on to ask him what will happen to the shoes which he answered by saying...they will be taking back to the supplier, i then asked if he can give me the suppliers number then i can buy the shoes from them.
