Trapped with an Edgars account

I have been trying to close my account for 3 months now and yet it still remains opened. I went to the store at Festival Mall in September and it took the Edgars staff 30 mins to find their way around their new system. I was assured that my account would be closed within a week. I called the call centre at the end of October and apparently account closures are not done at the store they are done over the phone. My account is still not closed though even though I closed it at the store and over the phone.
