Finally! A helpful consultant on the "customer care (not)" line. It's impossible to close an Edgars account via the RCS get rich quick scheme, if you have not cancelled Edgars Club and all the other frills you may have on your account. Today I got hold of a helpful person on no *** who said they now have permission to close the Edgars Club account and she even gave me a reference number. Of course, now I have to wait for a confirmation sms before I can "apply to close my Edgars account" which will no doubt be after the next bank fee! But it's further than I have gotten since early September, so give it a try.
