Terminally ill client being harrassed

My brother was diagnosed with terminal cancer in Oct 2014. He went to Edgars Centurion, to inform them that he will not be able to make payment on his account because he was a contract worker and a no work no pay clause app****. He had the relevant documentation from the doctor which stated that he was terminally ill (Stage 4-no cure, max 12 mths to live). Edgars promised to send all the documentation to Head Office (accounts and Legal depts). Since then he has been retrenched with no income. Unfortunately, it seems that different sections at Edgars don't 'talk' to each other and he has been receiving weekly phone calls from the Accounts Dept to ask him for payment. He explains to them what the situation is but they don't give a hoot and offer advice like 'go and collect unemployment then you can pay us'. He is under severe medication for pain control and is now very stressed out because of this constant harassment. The guy that phoned today promised that he will be calling again until he pays 'something'. Is there perhaps someone out there in Edgars space that has any idea how to assist a client that has due to unforeseen circumstances, fallen into bad debt?
