Service Fee

Earlier this month I received an SMS about a R50 gift voucher for my birthday. On the 26/10/2016 I went to Edgars to spend my voucher, when I got to the sales lady, she printed a Service Fee Agreement where it says that it has been communicated to me in writing (I have not received anything from Edgars in writing) that I will need to pay R22.80 per month to keep my account with Edgars. I told the sales lady that I am not accepting it and if that is the case I would like to close my account with Edgars. She then told me that I have about R50,00 in credit on my account, she can close my account but cannot return my credit. I told her to leave everything and I don’t want to buy any of my items anymore. Although this is a minor matter, I am not willing to sacrifice my R50. Please advise on what to do to close my account and return my R50. I am sure you are going to loose 1000’s of customers with this new thing! I have sent an email to Edgars Customer Care as well but no feedback from them.
