Second hand shoes sold as new
We bought a pair of shoes for my daughter's matric ball at the Edgars store in the Plettenberg Bay Mall. This was the only pair in that particular colour and we needed it urgently.

When we got to the counter to pay for the shoes, we noticed scuff marks on the side of one shoe. We also noticed that the soles of the shoes were worn. I pointed this out to the cashier and told her that the shoes cannot be new as it seem as if it has been worn and returned. However, the price is that of brand new shoes. She then called the manager.

We waited for about 15 minutes for the manager. In the mean time the queue behind us got longer and people were getting visibly irritated. My wife then told me to drop everything and pay the amount as shown on the shoes as we did not want to antagonise the other shoppers.

I feel ****** because I had to pay full price for shoes that were obviously second hand.
Thank you for notifying us of this matter. Please note the store would assist if the shoes were not worn at all by your daughter. The store manager does not have proof of the condition in which the shoes were in when they were purchased, thus, they cannot be returned.
