Re: Dior Experience at Edgars Canal Walk

Last month we visited the store looking to purchase a gift for my sister - Jo Malone to be specific. This is a brand I had very good experience with, in terms of how I felt treated when I was at their store. That’s when it used to be a standalone at the Canal Walk.

For me, I return to stores or interact with brands and buy for an experience. If I’m not satisfied with an item, I got experience another one, especially if my customer experience was managed well.

Anyways, that day we ended up by the Dior section because my friend (who was with me) wanted to test one of the lipglosses. For me, I have never had good experience with ladies at the beauty section when you arrive asking to test without any initiation of buying. Even though my friend didn’t care much and was all about her lippie testing - I was watching the lady helping us (her name is Busi). She was so sweet and kept assuring her that the moisture of the lipgloss lasts. We then explained that we are there for something else but will come back.

I kept her name because I had an intention of buying the lipgloss for my friend who is birthday in March with me. We jokingly said to Busi “we want it for the gram too” (translated as we’d like to post on IG) she laughed and said it will be IG worthy.

For that accommodation, her taking time with us (I must add that we came close to closing time 🤭 and the store closes at 9 - you can imagine how tired and annoyed she could have been). Anyways, yesterday, 5th of March I found the lipgloss out of stock and another lady helped to replace the gift with a Miss Dior fragrance - after so many attempts of finding a suitable lipgloss for my friend as replacement. I am so mad at myself because I forgot her name even though she was life saving to me. I kept telling her that I even got a cake make with Dior on it and balloons, so I had to leave the store with something 🥹.

PS my experience of the supervising guy was not sweet, or maybe he was nonchalant because he was not the official person attending to me. But his response was so off when I asked when the lipglosses were coming in. Even when I asked to be advised when they come, he made it seem like they are only coming next year. Anyways, my overall experience was not *****ed and we found the gloss at the Dior store in V&A Waterfront and the lady there said they had just arrived in the morning.
