Profiling of Customers Edgars Gatway

My son has dissappeared into the men’s change room for a while and I wasn’t sure if we had missed each other. I went to the FEMALE sales assistant at the entrance of the change room, no handbag or anything on me, not even my cell phone, to enquire if my son was there and I called out his name.

I had at NO stage entered the change room. I remained in the foyer entrance whilst I asked ANEERA if my son was there and proceeded to call his name.

Aneera without even attempting to assist me with my query says: Can you leave cos you not allowed here.

The tone was EXTREMELY rude. I asked her why should I leave as I was not in the actual change room. I only wanted to enquire if my son was there.

She proceeded to tell me there is SIGNAGE STATING I AM NOT ALLOWED THERE. I asked her to show me the signage. She looked at me blank as there was no signage. Lie number 1.

I was furious and told her I was made to feel like a ******** just by being in the foyer.

My son exited, so I paid for the goods and then in my way out noticed Aneera reporting to what looked like a manager what had transpired, as I promised her I would report this incident.

By the time i approached her the manager had walked away. So I went to her and asked her if there was a manager I could speak to.

She **** once again saying NO manager was available. I said strange as I think I saw you talking to what appeared to be a manager.

She then agreed there was a manager. I asked her show me where he was and then she pointed me to the area he went into - an office area. I went in there and asked him what Aneera told him as I was pretty sure she went to him to PROACTIVELY to relay her VERSION of events BEFORE I went to social media.

He told me she said I was about to enter the men’s change room. I demanded we go back to the change room so I could show him where I was standing.

He also idiotically proceeds to tell me no female is allowed to enter.

But as we spoke, Aneera allowed an ADULT FEMALE TO SEE HER ADULT HUSBAND. She went into the actual change area.

So his excuse of only if it’s a child the mother can enter and ONLY if it’s in the front change room made zero sense.

I would like to know how is DOUBLE STANDARD APP**** to people like me? Was it this racial profiling as I was of a different color to the other customer? What made my situation with my son different to this couple ? There were also kids entering to see their dad? Where was the so called signage then ?

This manager gave a flimsy excuse but I think it’s extremely poor form for Aneera to lie about signage, no manger available and her manager to cover up whilst in front of my eyes lady walked into the change rooms to check her husband including their kids. I demand an apology as I do think I was profiled.
