Possible non-compliance with the law.

I visited Edgars in Carnival Mall on the 27th November 2021, and the following were my experiences: a) Floor staff had no identification on their clothes, and it was therefore difficult to spot sales people for assistance b) Social distancing was not enforced while waiting in the very long line to pay. In fact, no lines are drawn on the floor to highlight social distancing to customers. I drew the attention of this, to a gentleman who I assume was the cashiers' supervisor and he immediately stepped into action. I asked to speak to the store manager or to a SHE official and was introduced to a lady called Celeste, who informed me that the country was on Lockdown Level 1 and that they will try their best. I informed her that even though we were in Level 1 Lockdown, that the country was still in a state of Disaster, and that it is their duty to abide by the law. c) As I approached the exit, a security member who I identified as Mr Wiseman Zwane searched me but not others. He refused on several occasions to sanitize his hands before touching my items, before eventually complying. This individual had quite a bad attitude and told me that he can only explain himself to me in his own language. I noticed that I was stopped to be searched while many people were allowed to exit. He told me that they only search people that had Edgars carrier bags. This means that in his reasoning that only people with Edgars carrier bags could be capable of shop lifting, while other people without Edgars carrier bags are incapable. There are no signs at your entrance or exit which states who will be searched. I feel that this was done because of the colour of my skin as I am a Coloured gentleman.

I feel like approaching the Human Right Commission with my 3rd and final experience.
