Poor quality goods
I bought a bag from Edgars last year in September. This was a Forever New Laptop bag of a hefty price. I bought the bag thinking that I am buying a quality product. Only to find out that the bag is of extreme bad quality. One of it's strap is damaged now. I don't even use this bag everyday as I have other laptop bags. I returned the bag to Eastgate store, complaining about the quality of the bag. I was turned away, with an explanation that I should have returned a bag within 6 months. I don't understand why Edgards is selling poor quality Forever New bags that only last a few months. When a customer buys an expensive item. It should be last for a long time. I need the quality of this to be tested and I need an explanation why poor quality items are sold at Edgars. I have been a long standing Edgars customer, good paying record and I buy a lot from Edgars. If this is the way to treat loyal customers, I will be closing my account and not buy anymore from Edgars. I will be referring the matter to the Consumer goods and services ombudman if I don't get any fair treatment and investigation regarding the quality of this bag. I want to know why is Edgars not willing to investigate the quality of it's partners goods. My ID number is ***. Telephone number: ***
Thank you for bringing the above concerns to our attention.
Shopping at any of our Edcon stores should have not been so frustrating, for that we do apologise.
Kindly note there is a 6 months quality process that most retailers use were it concerns defected merchandise. Merchandise will be booked in for testing within that time frame to determine fault. In your case the period has elapsed hence the store was unable to assist on request.
However your complaint is referred to the stores management team to review and address within the next 48 business hours.
