Poor customer service.Edgars

Edgars added me to their book club, apparently based on a telephone conversation they had with me. As the conversation was supposedly voice-logged, I requested a copy of the conversation. Needless to say, this never materialized. The consequence was a debit on my account and a barrage of sms's notifying me that my account is in arrears. Numerous phone calls with promises that the matter would be resolved has proved fruitless. After been sent from pillar to post without any progress being made and on advice from customer services, I went into the local branch only to find out that in addition to belonging to their book club, a cellphone account has also been added. I could not get an answer as to who added this to my account , but was promised that a credit has been passed and that I would receive a phone call within 48 hours regarding the cell phone charges to my account. 5 days later and I am still waiting for the promised call. After all of this, I am still receiving messages that my account is overdue. This probably rates as the worst level of incompetence that I have ever experienced. Can they afford to chase customers away in this fashion?
