PAID UP LETTER

I had an account at Edgars but however i paid up the account end of Feb 2015 and requested the account to be closed. Beginning of last month I happened to check my credit status and i noticed that my account was not closed and my name was listed on the credit bureau, I therefore went there in their branch in Stellenbosch to enquire about that and I was told that I overpaid my account by R285,00 and that i must write a letter to claim for refund and also bring my bank statement, which I did but till this day I haven't got my refund and that was two weeks ago. Now i want to buy a vehicle but I cant because my name is at credit bureau and am not pleased at all cause I paid up the account long time ago.

Hello S.Sityo,

Thank you for raising your concerns with us. As per the feedback received from the accounts department and the telephonic discussion with the team manager. Kindly be advised The Payment Profile Records at the Credit Bureau are updated on a monthly basis to reflect a factual Credit History of the account over the past 24 months, therefore we cannot change or remove any records

As per the above statement, if you have a bad record for 24 months and then you pay up the account, after 6 months you will see that the 6 months have been updated as well as the remaining 18 months. However, it will be updated that the account is paid up and closed.

We are pleased you received the paid up letter and we apologise for the overall experience.
