Nightmare created by poor service

on 01/09/16 I purchased goods for R1134 on account, then I asked to pay installment for R1000 by eft. I received a slip that says all my account details, indicating account transaction. Cashier took R1134 by eft, I didn't object, didn't see the need to panic. Little did I know that I just purchased the same goods by eft, not on account, and I had not paid my installment. The next day I went back to the store to exchange one of the items because it was faulty. I found they were running a red carpet promotion with discount vouchers, after speaking to a manager, i managed to get a cashier to return both goods and retill them at discounted price. I gave him the till slip, Both of us unaware he was returning goods that were never purchased on account, onto the account and the retilling at the discounted price. So returned goods for R1134, tilled at new price of R887.

middle of the month I get communication that my account is overdue and in arrears and I need to make plan to pay up. I used my eft slip as the proof of payment I know it to be. I went back to the store on 01/10/16, after an hour of deliberation at customer service, manager on duty, Kuone, could only help me by trying to clear the late payment charge, and not with the big issue of the amount of R1134 which was meant to be my installment paid, now appearing in my account as goods returned, as well as the account being overdue, to correct that I would have to pay a little more than R2080. I could only pay R1187, which is a large sum, but I still have over R948 which is outstanding, and I was adviced, it will be overdue every month, unless I pay the whole amount of more than R2000

why is it that a cashier can simply ignore a customer's wish to purchase and pay in certain ways? Why does Edgars have so called managers who don't know what they're doing and have difficulty admitting their limitation? Somebody at Edgars needs to correct this mess or I am paying up my account and closing it. Matter of fact, I'm also unhappy about your new service charge

Best regards,
So I missed their call once on tuesday 04/10/16 at 18:25 from number ********** 800. There was only one attempt to call me. I tried to phone back a minute afterwards. The number is the edcon switchboard number with an automated response. I don't know who was calling and from where specifically, so I could not go through with the call. I explained this to a lady who called on Wednesday from a different number and she said someone from Edgars at Eastgate would call me. That was 4 days ago and I'm still waiting. Clearly this isn't an important issue to them. Yesterday I received an SMS to remind me to please pay my account urgently to maintain a positive payment record and good credit reference. This is irritating. I HAVE paid my account

I am really disappointed with Edgars, I received a call where the person recited my complaint and then promised to phone back. I have never heard from Edgars again except the irritating SMSes to tell me my account is in arrears. I have settled my account, I went to Eastgate to settle the account and to close it. They called their call centre, I was told I would receive an email that confirms my account is settled and closed in 24-48hours, 96hours later, I'm still waiting for this email. Really?
