New Cellphone
Dear Hello Peter,<br> <br> My cousin with the name Buyi bought a cellphone at Edgars Jabulani with her Edgars account. When buying the phone she was told she can return the phone within 7 days of purchase or exchange it. When she got home she realized that the camera was not the best and decided she doesn't like the phone and took it back to Jabulani to exchange it but when she spoke to a consultant they told her she can't exchange the phone once it's been opened yet when she bought she was told she can return or exchange it within 7 days. Why does Edgars lie to its customers. We should have bought the phone from others stores that are loyal unlike Edgars now she is stuck with this phone and doesn't even like it. <br> <br> Kind regards,<br> <br> Phindi ***

Thank you for informing us of your situation. Please note that the mobile handset has 7 days guarantee and up to 24 months warranty. This means that if you experience any technical difficulties with the phone it can be returned to the store for further assessments and can be exchanged to a new one should there be any technical difficulties. However after 7 days the guarantee lapse and the store can only act as a facilitation point only (This means that the store can assist with booking the phone for repairs and all costs will be incurred by the customer). The customer can even take the phone directly to the Service Provider (be it MTN, Vodacom, 8ta or Telkom) for further and quicker assistance.
The phone cannot just be exchange because a customer does not like a certain feature and the Terms and Conditions were signed.
