Never again, No Not even ONCE
Oh, I can't even. I'm 36 and I can't even. I can't even bear to keep an account there anymore. Taking a full 20 minutes just to be able to count on ONE HAND which formal shoes ACTUALLY are available in a size 8 or 9 ... Nearly required me to open Google Docs and build a spreadsheet. Because well, nothing. Now for a plain black shirt, long sleeve. Great! S, M L, (XL, if you are lucky) What are these sizes? How do they compare to international sizes? 40? 42? 44? 46? 32? 99? WHAT ARE THESE SIZES? Never mind, lets just hope "XL" is not a complete ********. Waiting at the till, while the chitchat goes on between the staff, apparantly 11AM is the time for social discussions. Never mind me. Oh look, a disinterest lady nonchalantly wavers me over. "Thank you, your Grace, I come with my humble purchases" I think to myself sarcastically. She would look down on me, if not for the fact that I was 6"4 and she was not, but I did sense I was taking a helluva lot out of "me-time" at the till and she was not impressed with me trying to purchase something during her "me-time". Clearly I had offended her in some way for merely standing in line ready to give Edcon my money. Time to shake and tug, pull, twist and man-handle the shirt at the magnet-thing on my soon-to-be-new-shirt. around the 11th attempt, success! Next, she began tenderizing (read: smashing repeatedly, and staring into space) my (no longer new shoes), against the magnet-tag-remover-thing. Eventual success... E-V-E-N-T-U-A-L..Success. she happily placed the dirty soles of the shoes (I had made a few paces with, on what was a very dusty, dusty floor) sole-down on the shirt! Just like that. Keeping calm, I was greeted with "Card, account? (still staring into space, mind you)". "Why yes, here is the account-card!" "Problem with card, AUTHORIZATION!" she yelled.. Whoa. ok. "Go to customer care" was the curt answer. leaving the goods at the counter I now needed to go to customer care. Whith a broken account that Edgars has been sending me statements about for 18 months, every month, being 51c in CREDIT. Customer care starts telling me some ******* about the account and once the lady was connected to "head office" I said" close the damn account, I am done with this sit store and chain and I don't care houw much credit is on that card, just close it", left the card with her and left the store. NEVER AGAIN, NEVER AGAIN at EDCON. NEVER again. Please can you send me 51c credit back to my banking account and take a page out of my reviews of Truworths!
