MY EDGARS HORROR STORY

Last year September I received an SMS. Stating that some +- R11, 000 had been used to make a purchase at Edgards. Using my Edgars Account.

Funny thing though is; I have never ever in my life owned an Edgards/Edcon account. But like a civilised citizen I gave Edgars the benefit of the doubt and I called their ***** department. A phone call that lasted for 30 minutes. (30 Minutes of my life that I will never again see.)

The ***** department informed me that I need to go to an Edgar store where the issue would be resolved. But I would need to go with a statement from the police and a copy of my ID.

So instead of being at work I took time off to go sort Edgars' mess. I went to the police station where I spent 2 hours getting a statement. (2 hours that will never be regained.)

And then I proceeded to an Edgars store in Polokwane where I waited in a queue for an hour to get help. (Another hour bites the dust)

Once it was my turn the consultant asked for the documents and she called ***** division to explain what happened. I explained the story and then then spoke to the store consultant again. The store consultant faxed my documents that I came with and informed me that she received a sent acknowledgement form the ***** division. She also informed me that my issue will be resolved and it could take up to two weeks.

I left the store with peace of mind knowing that this nightmare is finally over.

IMAGINE MY HORROR WHEN I GET AN SMS A YEAR LATER INFORMING ME THAT "MY" ACCOUNT HAS BEEN FORWARDED TO DEBT COLLECTORS!!!!

I called the debt collectors and they informed me I need to speak to Edgars.

I called EDGARS only to be told that the document were sent to the ***** division but they did NOTHING!

No Investigation, no closure of the account JUST NO-THING!! I am sure coffee at ***** division is nice!

To cut the long story short the telephone consultant I spoke to today informs me that she has escalated the matter to the ***** division. (As I laugh out loud). Is this not the same division that sat on my case and did nothing for a year?

Who knows? Maybe Grant Pattison might be the only person who can help me.
