Lying retailers only honour CERTAIN customer orders

I made a purchase on 11 August when Edgars sent me a voucher to use to try out their new beauty website. I placed an order online and paid cash. This was a Saturday. By Tuesday my parcel reflected in my city so I was waiting for delivery. Wednesday nothing. Thursday Nothing. I called and was told Edgars had requested the courier RETURN my package. I called and was told that the voucher was an error and ALL orders had been cancelled from those online sales for about 4 days. This was a lie as people (some of them on my referral) ordered 2 days AFTER me and still received packages well over a week later. I sent them pictures of all those people's orders as proof. I was told my complaint would be escalated but NOTHING was done. I had my money returned. A stupid voucher issued (that I can't even use online). No sorry. NOthing.

How does a retailer LIE to its customers and honour the orders of some customers but not others? I was definitely in the minority of having my order 'cancelled'. Surely this is against the CPA? Edcon you are sinking like the Titanic...I for one will NEVER support you again and I have been a customer for almost 20yrs.

Your sincere apologies do not compensate me and does not restore my faith in a retailer that is dishonest with it's customers. A retailer that shows favouritism to certain customers. A retailer that can ship and order to you and then ***** it back. In essence it's what you did, you stole my package from me. I have had no further feedback. You leave me no choice, but to address this on my blog, on your FB page, on Twitter and I will report you to the Ombudsman.
