I made a purchase of R810 on 8 December 2024. Received my first statement 8 January 2025 first instalment end of month. I noticed they charged me interest and an admin fee for R28,00. I called Edgars head office and spoke to Junela who informed me I have a revolving account and not an interest free 6months account as it was. I should have told the sales lady when doing the purchase it should be a 6 months interest free account. I have my account since I was 17 years old when I started working. I don't use the account often, but it always was a 6 month account in the past. How should I as the client know they changed the account. I also never received any communication of an admin fee they will charge now. She also doesn't have proof of anny communication send to me. She promised me to escalate it to I don't know which department to correct the account. I received my statement now again. Nothing was done and interest was charged again and also the R28,00 admin charge. Stay away from Edgars. I am not prepared to pay any interest of admin fees.
