Items returned but not reflecting on my account

I went into Edgars Greenstone on 5 Sept to return 3 items and pay my account, I paid R400 and the lady credited the items to my account or so I thought. My account statement came through yesterday. The payment reflects as a credit but the items returned for about R300 is not shown and my balance untouched. What did they do with the items I returned, I also signed for it. I also enquired about my Edgars gift cards that I received after having a baby this year, the lady also told me that because Edgars was purchased by another company it may not work, that means I have about R1500 in gift cards that I cannot use. What then happens to my thank you points which I have been collecting from Engen. There has been no communication to their loyal customers. It seems it would be better after 18 years to pay off my account and close it if this the new customer experience one receives.
