items charged never used or ordered

I recently paid off the balance on my Edgars account - I have been a customer since about 1978. On checking the account I discovered I had been charged an amount of R60.00 a month for some time for Edgars club.I phoned ( with great difficulty and patience ! ) to someone who told me I must have authorised it. When this happened I asked for a refund and note I have not been charged for that this month - no refunds for the previous period. I had in its place an item for R19.68 for airtime register. I did not even know I could buy airtime from Edgars and have never had a prepaid cel phone. I now note Edgars is going to charge all credit customers R24 per month. At this rate Edgars can start giving clothing away free since they appear to have a huge income from ***** charges. I have pointed this out to my son-in-law who checked his account and found the same R60 charge he closed his account after 13 years. I tried to close mine today but because they say I owe them the dubious R19.68 cannot close the account.
